Psychiatry

Community Support Services has a large team of psychiatrists who work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team including case managers, counselors, and residential staff.

A primary goal of Community Support Services is to provide integrated healthcare for all of our clients as we focus on the whole person. – primary health, behavioral healthcare, and wellness under one roof.

Our Board-Certified psychiatrists provide initial diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and consultation for all clients of the agency. If an individual needs to be admitted to the psychiatric unit of a one of our local hospitals, the client will be treated by one of our agency psychiatrists. This improves the continuity of care.

In addition to certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, many of our psychiatrists have added qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, or Addiction Psychiatry.

Many medical staff members hold faculty appointments at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), Department of Psychiatry.

These providers conduct seminars on community psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and other topics for psychiatric residents. Third year psychiatry residents also receive supervision from agency psychiatrists during their community psychiatry and inpatient psychiatry rotations.
