May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it reminds us to honor and remember the many people who are affected by mental health conditions.

One in five will experience a mental health condition.

Regardless of the clinical diagnosis, or wherever they are on the clinical spectrum from mild to severe, for those living with it or through it, the suffering is immense. Whether struggling in recovery, fully recovered, watching a friend or family member struggle or triumph, we are all impacted by mental health conditions.

What I have come to realize over the many years that I have been in this field is that we all have a story about why we are here. In my hardest professional days, what grounds me is what drew me to this work in the first place: it is the people who live with these conditions and helping them live their best lives.

Let’s honor those who are struggling and recovering.

And to the CSS Team, this month, and every month: Thank You for all you do to make people’s lives better.
