Internships

CSS maintains an active internship program for students in many disciplines. We are committed to providing a valuable learning experience for students. Interns are required to complete the agency’s background check process and meet the current COVID-19 vaccination requirement.

All students are required to complete the agency’s orientation process. In general, we request interested students apply at least one quarter/semester prior to the anticipated start of the placement.

PAID INTERNSHIPS

Bachelor-level / master-level internships in social work, counseling and other human service fields

To be considered for a paid internship, the placement will need to be for two consecutive quarters/semesters. When applicable, students will be required to apply for Social Work Trainee or Counselor Trainee status through the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.

OTHER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
  • Nurse Practitioner Program – In order to provide the best possible learning opportunity for students, Community Support Services is currently only able to offer placements to students from the University of Akron and Kent State University.
  • Associate Degree Program – We welcome applications from persons pursing an associate degree in human and social services.
