Congratulations to Community Support Services Medical Director-Psychology Dr. Eileen Schwartz, who recently was awarded the Drs. Fred and Penny Frese Education Award from the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board.
The award recognizes individuals who have made “a significant, positive impact in educating others in an effort to decrease stigma that affects those with mental health disorders and substance use disorders.”
Dr. Schwarz was one of four recipients of the ADM Board’s Trailblazer Awards celebrated at an awards ceremony at the John S. Knight Center.
In honoring Dr. Schwartz, the ADM Board cited her three decades of dedication to supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness through her work at CSS, including her work in geriatric psychiatry and homeless outreach and educating participants in Summit County’s Crisis Intervention Team training.
“As Medical Director, she leads with compassion and purpose, mentoring future behavioral health professionals, supporting integrated mind-body care, and breaking down stigma through education and advocacy,” the ADM Board stated. “Dr. Schwartz embodies the spirit of lifelong learning, leadership, and collaboration.”
Congratulations to Dr. Schwartz!
