A new slate of officers was elected, and a new member was welcomed during the recent CSS Board of Directors annual meeting.
Staci Nevels, founder of Journey4Heroes, Inc., was elected as the new board chair. Nevels has been a member of the board since 2019 and has served on several committees. Currently, she serves on the executive and program oversight committees. She most recently served as vice chair. Her term will end in 2028.
Serving as the new vice chair is Lesley Richard, who has been on the CSS board since 2020. Richard, who is the director of payer marketing for SummaCare, serves on the executive and outreach committees. Her term takes her through 2026.
Matthew Longmire, who joined the board in 2022, continues on the board as treasurer. He serves on the executive, fund development and finance committees and is chair of the finance committee. Longmire is a business resource manager with Valley Economic Development Partners, Inc. His term ends in 2028.
Claudia Dulac, senior marketing strategist with SummaCare, is the board’s newest secretary. She has been on the board since 2024 and serves on the outreach committee. Her term extends through 2027.
The board also welcomed its newest member, Nicole Hagy, community outreach and grants coordinator for Akron Municipal Court. Hagy was elected to a three-year term.
Prior to working at the court, Hagy led social media efforts for several nonprofit and for-profit organizations in Northeast Ohio. She holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University. She has been honored with the 30 For The Future Award from the Greater Akron Chamber and the Laura Allio Emerging Leader Award from the Women’s Network Leadership Institute. In 2024, she was named a Woman of Distinction from the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Hagy shares her marketing expertise on the CSS Outreach Committee.
