The annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Count will be conducted on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

The Summit County Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is an annual effort to count the number of individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. Volunteers in fluorescent green vests will deploy across Summit County to count the number of people experiencing homelessness in a single day, and to distribute items of need. If they are willing, the unsheltered people answer survey questions to collect data on demographics and needs.

Community Support Services not only lends staff efforts to the annual count, but also uses the data gathered to guide our Homeless Outreach Center, Emergency Overnight Shelter, and other services for the unhoused.

How You Can Help

Homelessness and housing instability is, unfortunately, a growing problem in Summit County. Community Support Services provides free laundry facilities, showers, and coffee at the Homeless Outreach Center (111 E. Voris Street in Akron) and an Emergency Overnight Shelter during periods of inclement weather.

These services offer a welcoming front door to connect our neighbors experiencing homelessness with case management and other life-changing supports.

CSS's services are improved through the generosity of the community. As we embark on this year's Point-in-Time Count, please consider making a donation to support this work.
